The NuMED For Children team.
The Fieldstone Foundation is honored to announce a generous $5,000 donation from NuMED For Children, a medical device company with deep North Country roots and a longstanding commitment to improving children’s lives.
This contribution, made through an Enhanced Sponsorship of the Foundation’s Meals with Meaning event, will directly support food insecurity initiatives such as the Backpack Program, which provides weekend meals to nearly 450 children in seven local schools who are experiencing food insecurity.
The Backpack Program ensures that children who rely on school meal programs don’t go hungry on weekends by providing them with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food each Friday. This essential support helps meet a critical need, ensuring children have the nourishment they need to grow, learn and thrive.
Founded in 1984 by Al Tower Sr., NuMED began with a vision of creating jobs in his hometown of Hopkinton, NY by establishing a company that designed innovative catheter tools to better serve pediatric patients. What started in a repurposed elementary school has grown into a global company—yet its heart remains local. Their investment in the North Country continues through charitable giving and strong partnerships with organizations like the Fieldstone Foundation.
“At NuMED, we’ve always believed that community comes first,” said Allen J. Tower Jr., President of NuMED. “Supporting Meals with Meaning and the Backpack Program reflects our continued commitment to helping children thrive—both through the products we develop and the communities we care deeply about. None of this would be possible without our incredible team. It’s their hard work, dedication and passion that make it possible for us to give back in meaningful ways.”
Meals with Meaning, the Foundation’s signature annual fundraiser, brings together restaurants, sponsors, volunteers and community members to raise funds and awareness for childhood hunger in the North Country. NuMED’s sponsorship plays a key role in strengthening the event’s impact and expanding its reach.
“This $5,000 gift is enough to provide weekend meals for 40 children for an entire school year. We are incredibly grateful for NuMED’s generosity and their belief in our mission,” said Amanda Tagliarino, Senior Director of the Fieldstone Foundation.
The Fieldstone Foundation is proud to welcome NuMED as a partner in our mission to build a stronger, healthier and more connected North Country. Their commitment to community and children’s well-being is deeply aligned with our values, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
