The Fieldstone Foundation is proud to announce the official launch of the Backpack Program in partnership with the Saranac Lake Central School District.
Beginning this week, 77 eligible elementary students in Saranac Lake will receive weekly weekend food support through the Backpack Program. This expansion represents one of our largest school partnerships and increases the total number of children served across the region to nearly 600.
The Backpack Program provides nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks to help ensure students have consistent food access when school is not in session. With food insecurity continuing to impact families throughout our region, this expansion reflects our commitment to responding thoughtfully and sustainably to growing community need.
To help sustain this work locally, the Foundation will host a dedicated Meals with Meaning Saranac Lake event on July 30. Proceeds from the event will directly support the Backpack Program in the Saranac Lake community.
We are honored to partner with the Saranac Lake Central School District in this next chapter and look forward to continuing to strengthen the community together.
